Frank Gazaway: Carbon monoxide is produced naturally by the human body as a signaling molecule. Thus, carbon monoxide may have a physiological role in the body, such as a neurotransmitter or a blood vessel relaxant. Because of carbon monoxide's role in the body, abnormalities in its metabolism have been linked to a variety of diseases, including neurodegenerations, hypertension, heart failure, and inflammation.Carbon monoxide poisoning occurs after enough inhalation of carbon monoxide (CO). Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas, but, being colorless, odorless, tasteless, and non-irritating, it is very difficult for people to detect. Symptoms of mild acute poisoning include headaches, nausea, weakness, vertigo, angina, dyspnea, and flu-like effects; larger exposures can lead to significant toxicity of the central nervous system (loss of consciousness and coma) and heart (angina and dyspnea), and even death. Prevention is often possible with household carbon monoxide detectors...! .Show more
Corey Rohleder: If the concentration is high, you'll have anemia and therefore tachycardia. If you are really poisoned you may even have heart attack.
Dwight Siniard: Breathing carbon monoxide does not cause heart disease. Severe carbon monoxide poisoning can cause a heart attack. CO (carbon monoxide) binds with the hemoglobin in your blood which makes the blood unable to carry sufficient oxygen to sustain your body. This can increase heart rate in an attempt to supply more oxygenated blood to the body. Thus the heart itself requires more oxygen. In a susceptible individual that has any underlying heart condition it may cause a heart attack. Heavy or prolonged exposure to CO can cause permanent brain damage due to oxygen deprivation....Show more
Clifford Riggleman: Carbon Monoxide poisoning is probably not the cause of those symptoms. If one has carbon monoxide poisoning, they need to get treatment right away or they will die. CO (carbon m! onoxide) attaches to the hemoglobin over 200 times faster than! does oxygen. The lips and the finger nail beds turn bright cherry red. Death soon follows. All right the chest xray looks like this patient has an enlarged heart. However the lungs seem to be clear. I am not sure why the gallbladder wall would be thickening. I am also not sure of the white matter disease. Good luck...Show more
Mitsuko Manne: Yes but only sometimes...only when there is too much of carbon monoxide in the air!!...mostly when its 35% in the air..!!!..Hope my answer helped!
Bryan Avinger: Carbon monoxide reduces the amount of oxygen carried in the blood and so theoretically you could have a heart attack if the heart tissue lacks oxygen (but dont trust me on this coz i am no expert)
