Gertrude Darke: For a sound system, I would recommend speakers from Klipsch, Paradigm, or Wharfedale. I've only used Klipsch out of these three, but all three brands are some of the most respected and well known in high quality audio, in fact Klipsch is used in a lot of movie theaters. I don't know about amplifiers though. Also, stay away from Bose (but you probably already knew that, if you need a reason, http://www.intellexual.net/bose.html ). Good luck!...Show more
Dexter Gold: I am just going to throw out some numbers based on what I have been looking at and seeing. Since, I am considering the same thing - now remember it depends on how far you are going to go with it - I am going to give a moderate estimate.Everything is plus or minus since it ranges from the simple / basic to the more complex / expensive.Projector and Screen Package $ 2,500 + approx for midrange (possibly an electric screen)Take a look at this website for complete home theatre packages.........! (basically it is home theatre in a box and you have it installed or do it yourself) starts at about 6, 000 carpet, risers, accent pieces, etc. - not the chairs - I think that is separate.http://theaterseats.htroom.com/accessories_complet...Theatre style seats for the custom one at least $500.00 per chair. For those you purchase from a retail furniture store probably about 1/2 of that per chair.About $10,000 depending upon how you do it. Of course you there are some creative people (use cost saving materials that are still quality) who can do it for less than this or 1/2 of it and you would think it was that much....Show more
