I don't have insurance ?

Sharee Doak: You can do it when the regulations are in effect in 6 months. According to the new law you do not have to be a full time student to join your parents insurance plan. You can stay under their health insurance to age 26. You are a dependent if they claim you on their tax return so you are home free and you don't have to live with them.

Joie Libutti: There are a WHOLE BUNCH of possible reasons, here are a few:1. you live on your own, they don't provide you any financial support, and they don't claim you as a dependent on their taxes (that means, you! Melissa Lavallie: You don't "claim their income" on taxes. You're talking about financial aid applications, which is different. If you live on your own financially, you are NOT a dependent for tax purposes.They WILL be able to cover you but are not required to do so under their insurance plan (up to age 26) when that provision of the health reform law takes effect.
