Malissa Porth: Discipline has to be put back into schools. Students should not be allowed to run wild and be disrespectful. So much classtime is spent dealing with students who simply want to goof off or misbehave because they know they will not get in trouble. How can a teacher do his/her job in this environment? How can students learn?Schools have to bring back standards and hold teachers, administrators and students to those standards. Students should not be simply passed along to prevent them from dropping out and/or to make the graduation rates look better. Teachers should be teaching, not holding social/movie/text time (24/7). Administrators should support their teachers and hold those accountable who do not follow the set standards.Education should not be dictated by what is going to be on a state test....Show more
Stevie Kizziar: Better school structure. Teachers currently in training will be the best teachers as its been made very difficult for these traine! es. (Personal experience) The expectations of being a teacher is already so high, university and post graduate courses are extremely hard and test every area of being a teacher. Extra tests have been brought in to make sure the teachers knowledge are at a very high standard. A lot of the time its the pupils that misbehave and spoil it for everyone because of a poorly structured school. Behaviour management needs to be strictly implemented through out the whole school with no slips ups. Communication is key. There are so many factors. Go observe or look around a failing school, this will give you a lot of insite into what a school needs....Show more

Clifford Riggleman: First we need to improve childrens views about education, their motivation and their "want" to learn. You can have the best teachers on the planet, but if the kids do not want to learn, then it's all a waste.Too often I see kids who simply don't want to be there, and would rather be out of school with friends, content to sign on and avoid getting real jobs....Show more
