Christopher Calcano: Imports like Toyota and Honda generally are more capable of lasting over 100,000 miles. I don't trust Hyundai or KIa.My experience with American cars (especially GM) has never been favorable. I'm hoping I am in the minority to have this experience.Do your research with Consumer's Reports among others. I really wish you luck with your purchase....Show more
Wally Perrien: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! NOOOOOO! it can't be true!
Ewa Homrich: It's possible. Hate to break it to you but the Japanese have a better development system for cars.
Dick Ovdenk: American cars are not expensive to maintain but they are expensive to repair. Things break in them more frequently than in import brands. Besides, most American cars these days are made of foreign parts and many are assembled in places like Mexico. On the other hand, many Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and BMW models are built right here in the USA and your purchase of them provides a job for American wor! kers. It is patriotic to buy an import brand....Show more
Adan Stribble: That is absolutely NOT true!!! American cars are AT LEAST as good as the foreign stuff at holding up. Parts are usually less expensive for them. They will occasionally break, just like a Toyota or Honda or Mercedes. If you like the American cars, by all means BUY one. Just maybe check with Consumer reports about any problems that certain models might have.I've driven and owned lots of foreign and American cars, and some of my BEST and most dependable ones have been Fords....Show more
Sheldon Lally: well now, I have owned a Ford, Chrysler Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai. will not buy these models again. I have a 1990 Buick Century Ltd with over 350,000 on it. The car has been extremly reliable which is more than what I can say for the other makes mentioned. I also own a 1997 Chev S-10 Blazer with over 180,000. just remember, the vehicle is only as good as the dealer you bought it from.
