Oren Eskelsen: RAM, but it is a waste of money, better to get a new PC.You are probably using AGP graphics, but they are hard to find now.DO NOT upgrade anything without checking what you already have.AGP or PCI-E graphicsDDR1 or DDR2 (unlikely DDR3)CPU socket typeThese parts will be difficult to find & you will probably have to get second hand stuff if it's really old....Show more
Alma Twomey: That's a tough one... you may need to look at a whole new computer, if your hope is to play newly-released games from 2014.There are plenty of awesome games that are within your specs, of course. Computer games are a well-established artform with a long history... but the reality is that modern game-making establishments work somewhat in sync with hardware manufacturers in order to make use of the latest technology, in the hopes of prolonging their relevance in the future. At a computer swap-meet... you may be able to pick up a computer that is "better" than what you have, for! under $200.For most 2014-release games, you would need a better processor, and a better graphics card. As soon as we are talking about a better processor, we are talking about a better motherboard. As soon as we are talking about a better motherboard, we are talking about more modern RAM memory. If we are replacing the CPU (1.66 Ghz is quite low for gaming) and the video card (512 MB is quite low for gaming), and then inevitably the motherboard and ram, and making sure that we have a power supply that can handle the replacements... then we are talking about replacing pretty much everything inside the case.Unfortunately, you are in a situation where it is difficult to replace one single thing... replacing any one thing would necessitate replacing other things too. I can tell you this... If a budget of, say, $600 US is not out of the question, then you could get a much better setup than what you have.A 1.66 CPU doesn't cut it. You need to spend about $200 on a better CPU (an! intel i5 3570k, or AMD 8320)... and about $100 on a motherboa! rd that will support that processor (you don't need the fancy extras, just go with Gigabyte or Asus for motherboards...) and you need a graphics card (a GTX660 is the cheapest reasonable option, about $200) and you need 4GB of ram that is supported by your motherboard... go with anything that your new motherboard supports.So....that's $200 for a new CPU$100 for a new motherboard$200 for a new graphics card$100 for new ram memory.$600. It's an all-or-nothing situation. Make that $700, if your current PC power supply is not at least 600 watts. That is really the best compromise in terms of being cheap, and good value, and relevant for modern gaming. You can't buy any one part of that and use it with what you have... so save up the money, and get it in one go....Show more
Malcom Fenoff: hey try 3d analyzer
Jamika Gregorio: At this point given the hardware you have there's no more upgrading that would do you any good. Sometimes it's time to let go and acknowledge it! 's time for a new PC altogether. Very slow processor, little RAM. Yeah you need a new computer from at least the last year or so. There's no point beating a dead horse.
Arnulfo Seegars: It sounds like it's time for a full rebuild, honestly.
