Penelope Armond: I'm trying to find a recipe I knew a few years ago, but now I can't find it in my home or on the internet. I know its main ingredients were lentils and basmati rice, and I baked it in a casserole dish. It had onion and maybe two cloves of garlic. I think it also had either tomato sauce or a tomato paste that was barely noticeable but just enough, after the casserole baked. I used to put vegetarian crumbles on top, or shredded cheese, if I wasn't making it for any vegans. does anyone know of anything like this, or at least how to reconstruct it if I can remember all the ingredients?...Show more

Kris Bozelle: Ok so I've been a vegetarian! for about 7 months now. The problem is, I know I'm no giving myself enough protein. This results in two big problems: 1) My skin has gotten really pale and I bruise easily and 2) I've gained weight (10 lbs) because I am constantly snacking. I really want to stay a vegetarian because it's what I believe in, but not at the cost of my health. Please please share with me how you get your protein so I can continue on.....
Ardelia Liptow: I buy firm tofu and put in the freezer. When I thaw it, I squeeze it to remove extra liquid. Sometimes I cube it and marinade it in soy sauce, ginger, garlic and orange juice. I also marinade it in Swiss Chalet chicken marinade (it is accidentally vegan!) and bake it alone or with a vegan shake 'n bake. It tastes great cold like this.I like to stir fry it with brussel sprouts and walnuts and have it on rice or quinoa. It even tastes great "raw" after being marinated.. and added to salad@ John - thinking like that... I would live on a! mountain and consume only fresh spring water......Show more
Basil Blasingame: You just put it in the broth and heat it. It's tasteless.
Jimmie Doerfler: Cheese pizza is best. Vegetarian chili (sans meat) is best. Vegetarian lasagna is wonderful. Mashed potatoes with vegetable gravy...Tacos! Nachos. Something I love is a meatball sub with out the meatballs- simply the marinara sauce, cheese, mayo and sizzling peppers. I'm no longer best with the nutrients part of being vegetarian, however I do realize what tastes well. :)
Dwight Siniard: Tofu is tasteless, BUT it acts like a sponge, it will take on the flavor(s) it is in. For soups, just make sure you press it to remove all the water its packed in and you are good to go.Extra firm gives you the most texture as-is. If you want it even firmer toss it in the freezer for at least overnight, let thaw, press water out....Show more

Davina David: It's not healthier. Usually the reason people go Vegetarian is because they don't want to eat poor, innocent animals. Honsetly, it's not what I'd call"Healthier"
Vernita Robberson: Just heat it up in the broth. the firm is best in soups so it doesnt fall apart. soft is good to like crumble it up, add seasonings and eat like meat or something,But soybeans are genetically modified and change your DNA in your gut bacteria to produce pesticides.it leads to birth defects, brain damage, sterility, diabetes, cancer and damages your intestines so that you develope allergies to foods you eat most. potentially ALL f! oods.only eat organic soy same as corn, "sugar" because sugar uses modi! fied sugar beets,(or just eat cane sugar) peas, tomatoes potatoes, rice, and more... organic legally cant be modified. good luck!...Show more

Merlin Fleischhacker: Yes! This is a MUCH healthier lifestyle! Vegetarians live longer, healthier lives. That's a fact! You won't only look healthier but you'll feel healthier to! Dead flesh (meat) contains saturated fats, cholesterol, hormones, antibiotics, toxins and absolutely no fibre. Vegetarians have lower incidence of diabetes, kidney disease and galls! tones and are less likely to suffer from heart problems! And have you even seen a fat Vegetarian? You might have some temptations to begin with, especially if you ate meat a lot, Just tell yourself "Its a dead animal on a plate, it lived and breathed and It didn't want to die, nothing should have to suffer for my taste buds when theres other options."Because, thats is what you have been eating, a dead animal, theres gunna be a lot of people who will hate on you for being a Vegetarian like saying things like "Its ALREADY DEAD! Why waste it?" and "God wanted us to eat animals." The truth is we can't save all animals, but we don't have to participate in the slaughter of animals. Theres a lot of veggies supporting you here and if you have questions we'll help you out!Good luck, and don't give up. You'll see the difference!...Show more
Mario Stricklan: Make sure you eat foods with protein in them. Alot of protein comes from meat. Peanut butter on your toast in the morning ! is one good way to get some extra protein.
Azzie Trembly: Well, i! f you truly care about your health, you will stop being vegetarian. As a vegetarian you can eat eggs, milk and cheese. But you really need to add some fish at least. Fish is a great source of protein, and fish oil has tons of benefits. Chicken is very good also. Did you know that a chicken breast contains around 50 grams of complete protein? It contains very little fat too if you take off the skin, and no carbs. That's why it's perfect for dieting.
Esteban Faggett: Just don't eat meat and think in your mind how they slaughter the animals and blood, veins, and puss come flying out when they chop off the heads of the animals.
Cherry Stampka: Okay, I KNOW tofu is supposedly really gross, but if you cook it, it's frikkin' delish. I generally cut mine into thin triangles, marinade it in soysauce and a tiny bit of sesame oil, then bake for about 40 minutes(20 then flip) at 400ºF. Another great source is beans, legumes are your friends! Peanut butter, eggs, and! dairy products are also decent, if you're not against non-fatal animal products.
Rosalva Steinmann: MorningStar Farms makes tons of imitation meats, if ya wanna go that route. If you eat eggs, skip the yolk and just eat the whites--Lots of protein. Sure, not as much as the yolk, but there's 60% of your daily cholesterol in one egg with the yolk.
